Description: Hôtel de Ville Construction date: 1627-1880 Style: Baroque WWI: Bombed and burned Features: Until 1627, the town councils of Reims had no place to meet. With the repayment of the debt of the Duke of Guise during the wars of religion, the construction of a Town Hall is decided. The Reims architect Jean Bonhomme built the left and then the central pavilions, but the site had to stop for lack of money. It was completed in the 19th century. The twisted columns and the scrolled pediment reflect the Baroque spirit of the time.
