Description: During the Covid-19 pandemic and lockdowns of 2020 the Agent Academy R&D division developed the Link Laser. The Link Laser was a single use device that was capable of severing a single link or a collection of links. If the device was deployed at the midpoint of the two linked portals the effectiveness was theorized to be 0%. Research showed the nearer to an anchor portal the weapon was deployed the better the chance it had of severing a link. This weapon, unlike other XM based weapons, was faction agnostic. When Covid-19 restrictions were relaxed field trials were performed. A number of prototypes were destroyed in the field tests. The final effectiveness and the number of remaining Link Laser prototypes is unknown at this time.
